Artist notes

I played percussion in orchestras through school and university, and while making this piece, I found there’d be a kind of synaesthesia of hearing a mallet striking a cymbal. Image arriving as sound. I afforded myself a little literalism, representing the moment of impact creating shimmering reverberations through the plate. A meeting of chaos and order.
